Yoga is an ancient Indo-European science spanning 4000 years. It represents a precious heritage woven from deep bonds between masters and students.
Without Man, more Yoga
At the heart of this transmission, it is less individual experiences that matter than the state of mind and the connection between the teacher and the learner, thus shaping exceptional destinies.
It is through these figures, guardians of ancestral knowledge, that the precious tradition of teaching has been perpetuated.
Tirumalai Krishnmacharya (1888-1989), an eminent figure in Yoga on a global scale, perfectly embodies this ideal.
Who is Tirumalai Krishnamacharya ?
Coming from a family representing the country's intellectual and spiritual elite, Tirumalai Krishnamacharya was the most educated man in all of India.
With such background, he could have become anything he wanted and be the equivalent of a pope or senior university official.
Despite his excellent level of education, he chose to direct his destiny and his career towards Yoga which he had learned for 8 years in Tibet.
He thus gave up all the comfort and social recognition of a conventional career. He made the incredible choice of a transmission, Yoga, which no longer represented anything in India at his time.
“In my father's time, the social recognition of a Yogi was that of a garbage collector. »
